Gloria Bacon Hodgson

Gloria Bacon Hodgson is a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher and cultural manager with more than 25 years of continuous work in the creation, performance and promotion of contemporary dance in both Nicaragua and Central America through the Nicaraguan Association of Contemporary Dance as well as her school "Espacio Abierto" in Managua.

As the director of these two organizations she has promoted both the importance of technical proficiency and a creative spirit that is aligned with the reality of the social environment to reconcile the impulses and ideas that arise from the Central American context with those from outside this area, in order to make dance that is universal. She is the founder of the International Contemporary Dance Festival of Nicaragua, which for 16 years has brought dance artists from all over the world to various cities in Nicaragua.
